Lori is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. She provides individual therapy to children ages 5 and up, as well as adults of any age. Lori has experience working with developmental trauma (abuse/neglect/attachment) as well as single-incident trauma(s) in children and adults. In addition, Lori works with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, emotional regulation issues, behavioral issues, parenting issues, and those impacted by family violence. Whole family therapy is utilized when appropriate. Past experiences also include School Linked Mental Health and In Home Counseling.
Lori completed her Bachelor of Social Work and Spanish degree from Northwestern College in Orange City, IA in 2005 and her Master of Social Work from the University of St. Catherine in St. Paul, MN in 2010.
Lori utilizes concepts from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), attachment focused therapies, solution focused interventions, strengths based interventions and trauma sensitive interventions. Lori has completed a practitioner training in Trust Based Relational Intervention ® (TBRI) through the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development (Texas Christian University). She is certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). She also completed EMDR training.
