Adult Mental Health programs encompass several types of programs and services but they all include the following goals:

  • Instill hope that change and recovery is possible
  • Establish personally meaningful goals to strive towards
  • Teach information about mental illness and treatment options
  • Develop skills for reducing relapses, dealing with stress and coping with symptoms
  • Help develop and enhance supports to manage their mental illness and pursue goals
  • Develop a relationship with a treatment team
  • Provide information about where to obtain needed resources
